South Shropshire Youth Forum (SSYF) has been delivering youth provision in Church Stretton since 2007. This has included the delivery of a youth club at the Mayfair centre between January 2010 to 2014. Other work has included developing peer led issue based projects and personal development projects with Church Stretton School.

With the backing of the Town Council, Shropshire Hills AoNB and support from the National Trust and other local partners the Youth Forum has been running a programme of activities called ‘Taste for Adventure’. The basic premise of the programme is to get young people from the area to get actively involved and connected to the physical environment. Activities have been delivered since 2015 and have included mountain bike rides with Plush Cycles, bushcraft sessions at Womerton Farm and volunteer days with the National Trust at Cardingmill Valley and Wilderhope Manor.

From 2017 we will see pupils from Church Stretton School participate in an alternative curriculum REACH project working alongside staff from the National Trust and representatives from Church Stretton Town Council.
