SSYF operates throughout the south Shropshire region, an area of approximately 600 square miles. In addition to the Forum’s offices in Ludlow, SSYF has established a network of satellite youth groups who are keen to help themselves and others within the community.
As an independent body SSYF is in a unique position to respond quickly and effectively to local issues arising amongst our young population as well as to national and local initiatives.
SSYF works with approximately 200 young people each year. Ages range between 8-25 years old, but young people are predominately aged 13-18. We run a variety of projects and deliver services depending on the needs of the young people in each market town area. These needs are prioritised through a process of ongoing consultation with young people. We provide activities during evenings during term time and also run day time projects in schools and provide services throughout the school holiday periods and at weekends.
